The Miami Symphony Orchestra announces auditions for Section Oboe 

Live auditions will be held on September 15th, 2026, at The Miami Symphony Orchestra Headquarters, 3900 North Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33127. All applicants must be available in the South Florida area.

How to Apply: 

First Round

Email your resumé, and preliminary video recordings to productionteam@themiso.org no later than August, 1st, 2026 (11:59 PM East Time). 

 

Preliminary video recordings repertoire

  1. One Solo Piece:

          Mozart Oboe Concerto in C major K. 314: I. Allegro aperto or

         Strauss Concerto in D major: I. Allegro moderato

  1. 5 Contrasting excerpts to choose from the orchestral excerpts listed below.

  2. English Horn (Optional): 3 excerpts to choose from the orchestral excerpts listed below.

 

Video guidelines

  • Applicant must provide YouTube links or video files in mp4, avi, mov, or mpg formats.
  • Live concert recordings are allowed for the Solo Piece.
  • Orchestral excerpts must be submitted in one take without cuts or edits.
  • Piano accompaniment is optional.
  • Email subject line must be: Oboe Audition_your name.
  • Video files must be named as follows: Oboe Audition_your name_content

Second Round

Successful applicants will be invited to the live auditions to be held on September 15th, 2026 at The Miami Symphony Orchestra Headquarters: 3900 North Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33127.

Invitations will be sent by email. All applicants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.
