Tarcisio Barreto Ceballos trained as a Conductor, Violinist and Composer in the Venezuelan National Youth Orchestra System (Sistema Nacional de Orquestas Juveniles de Venezuela) he attended, at a very young age, a great number of master courses, not only in violin but also in conducting and composing, in countries such as Venezuela, Spain, Italy, Swiss, Germany, France, Norway and the Unites States of America.

His career has been very eclectic, including performances as a Violin Soloist and Guest Conductor in Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Spain, Italy, Germany, Norway, United States of America, Uruguay and Ecuador. From 1993 until 2016 he was the Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Lara Symphony Orchestra. In 1994 he was appointed Musical Director of the Occidente Opera Company, staging the following operas: Cavalleria Rusticana, I Pagliacci, Negro Miguel, Traviata, Madame Butterfly, Gianni Schicchi, Suor Angelica, Il Tabarro, La Boheme, and Los Martirios de Colon.

In 1997 he was named Cultural Executive of the Year in recognition of his work for the cultural Development of the Region. He is also Active Conductor of the support program for Youth Orchestras of America funded by 0.A.S., UNESCO and CAF. From 1996 until 2016 he was Executive Director of Vicente Emilio Sojo Conservatory in Barquisimeto, where he had an intense teaching activity. Frecuent guest Conductor in “Simón Bolívar” Symphony Orchestra (Venezuela) and Marseille Philharmonic Orchestra (France). Since 2016 he plays at the violin section of The Miami Symphony Orchestra.
