• the challenge of developing the discipline and techniques that will help develop that extra something to help them compete within a very competitive field of brilliant young musicians.

About the Program:

The Miami Symphony Orchestra has a long history of providing programs and musical outreach to students. Since 1997, the symphony has provided in-school arts and education programs for elementary students in Miami-Dade public schools. The Symphony also provides low-cost tickets for professional classical performances in venues throughout Miami-Dade, including free concerts at Miami Children’s Museum

The Miami Symphony Orchestra initiated the Outstanding Young Artists Program in 2006 with one chair in the Cello section, a chair currently held by Anna Litvinenko, a 13-year old prodigy from the Ukraine.

In addition to the Cello section, there are two chairs in the Double Bass section, held by Jael August and Danny Jofre; and one chair in the violin section held by Andrea Mayz.
